NEWS FLASH!!

NEWS FLASH!!

We received some wonderful NEWS last night…middle daughter, Maggie and her boyfriend, Toby GOT ENGAGED!!! (insert a happy dance here!!)   Man, I love that Google++ (it’s similar to Facetime and Skype with video)  as minutes after Toby popped the question, we became part of their celebration!  I am SO happy for them and for our family as Toby has been ‘hanging around’ FOREVER…and will now officially become part of our family!!  Truth be told, Toby already IS a part of our family and already feels like a son but this seals the deal…and I have to say I couldn’t have picked a better man to do the job!  And you KNOW what they say..First comes LOVE, then comes MARRIAGE..…:o)

Congratulations, Maggie and Toby!!  We couldn’t be happier or more pleased!!  Wishing you both a life time of happiness!

Now onto Quilting….

SEW…how are you celebrating National Quilting Day?

If you have no plans, then this might be for YOU…. Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims, hosts of The Quilt Show, want quilters, sewers and crafters to help celebrate International Quilting Day by seeing what's going on in today's quilting world. They are opening up free access to over 140 of their shows from their www.thequiltshow.com website beginning Friday, March 15, through Sunday, March 17, and there will be terrific prizes from companies we know and love like Bernina, GAmmill, Superior Threads, AccuQuilt, C&T Publishing, RJR Fabric. Ricky and Alex will have gift baskets to give away too. The grand prize is a new BErnina 550QE sewing machine!  Wouldn’t winning THAT be sweet?!

As for me, hubby and I are off to San Diego to escape this heat…seriously I do not do heat well…and 100F is just over the top!   San Diego is boasting a lovely 69F day…more to my liking!  Hubby has a list of sightseeing in mind…and because IT IS National Quilting Day I thought a visit to Rosie’s Calico Cupboard would be most appropriate!  It’s the least I can do…don’t you think? :o))))

Have a SUPER Saturday and Happy Quilting!~P

  1. I love San Diego...especially Pacific Beach. A very eclectic place..very California. Take a walk along the boardwalk..you never know what you may see. An elderly gentleman, roller blading, singing opera, jugglers on the beach, etc. My grandson lives there so if you see my Darlin' Dylan, give him a hug. LOL LOL

  7. What wonderful news, Paulette. Congratulations to your daughter and soon-to-be son in law. Your family is growing by leaps and bounds this year.
I'm not partial to heat either, and what better way to celebrate National Quilt Day than with a trip to a quilt shop (or two?), and San Diego seems like a great place to start.
