The Country Loft…2013!

Claire is back home with her family, her loot is unpacked and put away and she is probably like me…sitting back and enjoying the pictures that I have been posting…it is like revisiting these wonderful shops all over again!!  If you have had enough ‘shopping’ then hop on over to the next blog…we won’t be offended…honest! But we are talking Country Loft here…and be warned…this is another picture heavy blog!

Yup…TODAY we are off to the Country Loft Quilt Shop…our all time FAVOURITE SHOP!

P1210914

We were welcomed with open arms by the manager of the shop, Kathie!  It was like meeting up with an old friend…and of course she let me take as many pictures as I wanted!!  ;)

P1210916

Also there to greet us was blog lurker, Kim (in blue)…It’s always fun (and surprising) to meet someone who actually reads your blog!  Kim was a real character and you couldn’t help but like her immediately!

P1210915

But it’s all about the SHOP…and the patterns and the fabric and the…displays…

P1210917

Everywhere you turn there are displays and quilts!  We were thrilled to see this Jan Patek (Pine Ridge) quilt hanging behind the counter.  This is a BOM that the Loft is offering…and it is magnificent!!  Love their colour scheme!

P1210918

Tons of glorious wool projects taken from JoAnn’s new book, ‘Folk Art Branches’…the pictures in her book do not do these quilts justice!

P1210919

Wonderful!

P1210920

Loved this a sweet wee basket quilt…sew do-able!

P1210921

And of course JoAnn’s magnificent Wool Crazy Quilt…I was so worried that Claire and Seattle Judy wouldn’t get to see it!!  They were of course, awe struck!

P1210922

There was another Wool Crazy version hanging in the classroom…made with a green borders…and just as beautiful!!  You could sit and look at these quilts for an hour and see something new with each passing minute!

The Grand Country Quilter…

Be warned…this post is picture heavy with lots of eye candy from the Grand Country Quilter in San Marcos, CA.  The ladies who worked in this store were incredibly nice and friendly and helpful…throw in a few (gorgeous) quilts and you’ve got yourself a dang nice Quilt Shop!!

Let the tour begin…lots of displays, quilts and pillows all over the shop…

Nothing like seeing a Cheri Payne original…this wee mat was incredible…just HAD to buy their LAST pattern!

P1210766

I’m running late (Clubhouse Quilting this morning:) so rather than me blubbering in the background about all the wonderful things in this shop, why don’t I let you browse….  Take your time to savour each picture…

Yup…these two were up to no good…chaching…chaching…chaching…

P1210780

Would you believe I whipped this down from the display to take a picture of this sweet baby!!  There was no pattern…the owner had some homespun left over squares…so she made this mat on a piece of Daiwabo fabric…

P1210781

LOVED the simplicity of this mat…and who doesn’t have bits and pieces left over from the Homespun House Quilt…!!

Yes, we had fun in this shop…prices were good and fabric was plentiful…and you SAW the displays!  Yup…serious damage was done in this shop…and we enjoyed EVERY moment!!

Thanks Grand Country Quilter for being so wonderful and gracious!!  WE will be back!!

Hope you enjoyed this shop as much as we did!!  {Nahhh…not possible!} But at least if you are driving down the freeway towards San Diego and you see the San Marcos sign, maybe, just maybe, your chauffeur will be nice enough to veer off the freeway and head on over…just like ours did!!

Thanks Rick…next stop…Stars and Scraps in Corona, CA!! :)
