Delores has finished three projects…

…the sweetest penny!

Adorable vases/candle holders made from a recycled sweater!  Love these!  (Add cable knit sweaters to my Thrift Store shopping list!!)

…And a gorgeous bag!!

Wow!!  It was an understatement when Delores said that she had been busy!!  Love all three of her projects!

Wonder what the New Year is going to bring??  I have tons of projects to finish….what about you?  Out with the old or in with the New?  How about a little of BOTH?!

Tonight with a little luck, we will be rolling into Corning, CA…right into Rolling Hills Casino’s RV Park!

Yesterday, using my Quilt Shop finder on my iPad, I found the PERFECT QS… ‘Something to Crow About’…it had EVERYTHING (including a very cute name)…Civil War fabric, wool, you name it…but it was CLOSED ON SUNDAYS!!

Nooooooooo!!Crying face

Have a magical Monday and a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR…and Happy Quilting!

  1. Something To Crow About is a neat shop. Try again on your way home!! Hope your trip over the pass is a smooth one.

  2. That is the problem with weekends and holidays, nothing is open, lol. I would love to go out for a bit, but I doubt anything is open.

  3. I love that shop, my quilting friends drive from Salem to Springfield to visit it. Plus on about 28th street their is a Goodwill that is a must. Drive safe and enjoy the view. Sally from Oregon

  4. I have been by there once before and it was closed as well. My friend Gail, who owns Sew Many Quilts in Bend Oregon used to go to that all the time. Enjoy the Casino.

  5. Enjoy your travels. I wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year!

  6. We want through Corning yesterday , coming home from our trip to Portland. We're in Folsom now visiting family but will be home later today. Save travels for you Paulette!

  7. How could they be closed when the knew you were coming! Oh well that just means you can buy more at the next place you find...hear that Rick!??

  8. You have such creative friends! Love Delores' projects! Continue to drive safe and Happy New Year!

  9. What a drag, finding the perfect quilt shop and it's closed. Enjoy the casino, and a very Happy New Year to you and your hubby. Have a safe trip for the rest of your journey. Not long now. Will there be quilting on Wednesday at the clubhouse?

  10. First of all...I am so sorry the shop was closed because it is the BOMB!!!!
also adding sweaters to my list of garage sale and goodwill hunts...and of course I think some of the besties, wear sweaters! lol I love the checked wool on the penny rug. have a happy new year!

  11. those are great projects, love the penny esp.

  12. I think that most quilt shops in Oregon are closed on Sundays, one that is open is Pioneer Quilts in Portland.

Something to crow about is one of my favourite shops in the area makesure you don't drive by on the way back home and make sure it isn't a Sunday!

Can't wait to see where you stopped today.

  13. Well, just maybe it'll be open on your return trip.

Which means...on to the next Quilt Shop find on your App.

  14. Love Delores' snowman penny---how cute!
Wishing you good health and happiness in 2013.
Safe driving and look forward to seeing a tour of the first quilt shop that you visit.

  15. Cute projects and sorry to hear the quilt shop was closed. Hopefully you get to stop on the way home. Happy New Year to you too!!

  16. Hope you made it safely into Corning. I waved as you passed by.
    Happy New Year!

  17. Happy New Year!
    I wish your happiness. :))

  18. So what did you use those JoAnn coupons on?

I truly enjoy your blog and wish you and yours a joyus 2013.
