She’s a Blue Ribbon Winner…

It’s almost Fair time here in our little valley but for Marie of Oregon The Fair has already come and gone…and man, did she ever clean-up…but then, come to think of it, Marie cleaned up last year too!!

Check out Marie’s Last Year’s entries HERE!

Here are Marie’s entries for this year…

You might remember this pattern…from this Fall’s Primitive Quilts and Project magazine…it’s a Cheri Payne Pattern!!  Love it!!  Definitely a blue ribbon for this one!!

WHAT WERE THE JUDGES THINKING??  Where’s the blue ribbon?…I love this penny…this looks like a Primitive Gatherings pattern…correct me if I’m wrong…one thing’s for sure…it is gorgeous!!  Just look at those itty-bitty flowers in the centre of each penny…ahhhh!

A gorgeous patriotic quilt…makes me want to move South!

And just LOOK at these adorable bunnies!!  Too cute for words!!

Marie, you done good…as usual!!

If you have a Country Fair in you neck of the woods, you should seriously think of entering some of your needle work…and it’s really not about the ribbons.  It’s all about community and being a part it.  It’s taking pride in your work and sharing in your accomplishments.  It’s a chance to show other quilters what’s out there and what you have been doing…and if they SHOULD throw you a ribbon, then so be it…it’s just icing on the cake or in case of the fair..butter on the cob of corn!!

If you have never gone to a Fall Fair then it’s time you did…keep your eye open in local papers or watch for signs or posters!  And take the kids…they will LOVE IT!!

Have a FUN Friday and Happy Quilting!~P

  1. I love the idea of seasonal fairs. We have summer fairs here in the UK and Christmas ones too, but autumn fairs sound fantastic! Em x

  4. The patriotic quilt is a very good piece. And I recognized Cheri's design right away. Looks good in the colors your friend used.

  6. I so agree about supporting local fairs - and it helps to gain respect for our crafts when those non-crafties see how great it is.

    Well done Marie!!
